Pessimism vs Optimism

not a pair of terms that come up in my word cloud very much. But a quick parse on the last two months econoblog history shows 268 optimisms and 86 pessimisms.

Most weeks optimism wins by around three to one, but on March 8 and 15 pessimism was about equal. On 10th May, conversely, one pessimism was fighting for attention against 25 optimisms. Maybe there's something in this trend analysis after all. If not, then I'm sure we can manufacture enough out of it for a couple more postings.

Yes - in the "news feed" analysis, optimism was above pessimism 99% of the time. I published the "general populace" chart rather than the media chart....
